Update for Tuesday, January 21. It's been more than a month since our last update, and we apologize for that. The last month has been...chaotic. In ways that slowed us down significantly. There have been some external factors - such as ice forcing us to close the warehouse for multiple days and illness causing 75% of the crew to call in sick for multiple other days. But to be honest, we learned just how fragile our fulfillment process is, and prone to repeated breakdowns when it is stressed beyond our capabilities. A combination of receiving several large shipments just before, during, and immediately after Black Friday (e.g. Marvel United Multiverse, Cthulhu: Death May Die, Thunder Road: Vendetta, and Wacky Races) meant that the number of orders that needed to be shipped more than doubled over our (already much larger than expected) Black Friday Sale order quantity. We have been overwhelmed.
We have consistently grown over the last several years, and we have tinkered with our fulfillment process to ship orders as quickly as we can, but it has always been working within a system that is not much different than the process we had in place when it was just Michael and Dan working in Dan's garage. This year we learned that it just doesn't work at our current scale of operations.
Although the vast majority of orders from BFS have gone out, there are still a few hundred orders that need to be shipped. And we have even more pre-orders that still need to be fulfilled for titles currently in our warehouse.
We want to apologize to everyone who has not yet received their order. We have already begun the process of re-vamping our entire fulfillment process, and we will be acquiring new equipment and technology needed to raise us to the next level of fulfillment. This will be a process that unfolds over time, but we've already identified some small tweaks to improve the system now. We'll keep everyone updated as we continue to implement new improvements.
Having said all that, we're prioritizing the remaining Black Friday orders to be fulfilled first. Once we have finished those, we'll turn to fulfilling pre-orders for titles that arrived before Black Friday - Cthulhu Death May Die and Thunder Road. Then we'll move back to fulfilling daily orders and other recently arrived. We are reluctant to ask for more patience as we work through the backlog, but we promise that we are painfully aware of how long it has taken, and we don't want anyone to wait one day more to receive their order (or pre-order).
Since our last update, we've received the following titles: Deep Rock Galactic, Rebirth, Dungeons of Infinity, Wandering Galaxy, Biome, Mycelia, Tidal Blades 2, Stroganov Big Box, and Unstoppable. We'll add those to the queue. So as of today, the queue is: Black Friday sale orders, Cthulhu Death May Die: Fear of the Unknown, Don't Go In There, Dungeons of Infinity, Hamlet: By the Lake, Iron Forest, Thunder Road: Vendetta, Wacky Races Deluxe Edition, Rebirth, Wandering Galaxy, Biome, Mycelia, Tidal Blades 2, Stroganov,and Unstoppable.
STANDING DISCLAIMER RE: PRE-ORDER FULFILLMENT: We will not ship a pre-order more than 30 days old unless and until we receive an address confirmation request. Crowdfunded games are often limited edition collector's items, and we cannot risk the loss that occurs if a package is shipped to an address that is no longer valid for the customer. If you placed a pre-order with us, PLEASE check your e-mail for an address confirmation request, and reply at your earliest convenience. This will ensure that your pre-order is delivered in a timely manner. Note that all address confirmation requests go to the e-mail address on record for the order placed. It is the customer's responsibility to monitor the correct inbox to ensure timely responses to address confirmation requests.
